For a plant to produce abundant, high-quality flowers and fruit, it requires a variety of nutrients. These substances must be available continuously and in varying doses over time. For example, if more nitrogen is processed during the initial flowering phase, the plant needs relatively less nitrogen as flowering progresses, but increasingly more phosphorus. The need for potassium also increases over time.
All of this can also be seen in the plant itself. At the beginning of the flowering period, the plants stretch considerably. The regulation of water balance, starch and oil production, the transport of nutrients and their plant reserves, and enzyme and carbohydrate synthesis are just a few of the processes in which the plant uses potassium. It also increases the plant’s resistance to external influences and increases its photosynthetic capacity. The correct amount of potassium therefore directly influences the quality and quantity of the harvest.
Sulfur, which is also contained in Hy-Pro Epic Blast, is involved in chlorophyll production, protein and amino acid synthesis, and tissue formation. It is also used in the production of vitamins and is necessary for nitrate reduction. Sulfur is used to form important amino acids from excess nitrogen when needed. This makes sulfur a vital substance for plants.
To ensure a constant cycle of flower formation and ripening, it is necessary to ensure a continuous supply of nutrients. During peak biomass production, the accessible nutrient supply in the rhizosphere can be exhausted after just 72 hours. If the raw materials for energy production are lacking, the plant immediately cuts costs. A constant supply of water and nutrients should therefore always be a priority.
